FERC Nominee Hearing: On Thursday March 21st, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee heard the testimony of three nominees for open commissioner spots. These commissioners hold incredibly important roles, as they ultimately make decisions on things like the GTN Xpress Pipeline expansion proposal. WPSR and our partners wrote Senators Maria Cantwell (WA) and Ron Wyden (OR) requesting that these nominees make commitments to environmental justices. Read the letter here.
States are speaking up! On March 18th, the States of Washington and Oregon formally filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to stop TC Energy from proceeding with construction of the GTN Xpress expansion. Their argument centers around FERC needing to address petitions for rehearing first.
