Nuclear abolition took on a new face in 1995 when 2000 organizations joined together in Abolition 2000 to bring the world together for elimination of nuclear weapons. PSR and IPPNW are founding members of the Abolition 2000 coalition.

On December 5, 1996 sixty Generals and Admirals from around the world signed a statement calling for the elimination of nuclear weapons: http://www.lcnp.org/ab2000/generals%20and%20admirals.htm

Lawyers Alliance for Nuclear Abolition (IALANA) they drafted a nuclear weapons convention (http://www.lcnp.org/mnwc/convention.htm) and presented it to the United Nations.
