Registration is now open for CleanMed 2008 – taking place May 20 – 22 at the Pittsburgh Hilton. WPSR members Rich Grady, MD; Steven Gilbert, PhD, DABT, and Sue Heffernan, MN, RN; as well as Ted Schettler, MD, MPH, and Erica Frank, MD, MPH, are among the slate of expert faculty throughout CleanMed – the premier conference on environmentally preferable purchasing and services in health care. The conference theme is Creating Healing Environments , with keynote speakers Dr. Ron Davis, President of the American Medical Association, and David Orr, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics, Chair Environmental Studies Program, Oberlin College. www.cleanmed.org.
2. Dahr Jamail: Telling Truth: Iraq and Iran
Join us June 7th 7:00 PM
Dahr Jamail worked throughout the 2003 war (and beyond) as an unembedded journalist in Iraq. His book, Beyond the Green Zone, gives a riveting account of the US occupation of Iraq. This June, Jamail will speak about what is happening now in this war-torn and dangerous part of the world.
